Join us on Wednesday, October 8th at the Lily Lake Pavilion for a Fireside Chat with Provincial Health Minister Hon. Dr. John Dornan and Dr. David Elias. We are excited to celebrate our 5th anniversary as a registered charity with birthday cake and a giant community card for everyone to sign. The evening will feature a professional photo booth, a silent auction, appetizers, and a cash bar. Tickets are $85, and together we hope to raise $20,000 to continue offering low-cost and no-cost grief counselling to individuals and families across our community.

Our Fireside Chat Speakers

Hon. Dr. John Dornan

Dr. Dornan has been practicing medicine in New Brunswick since 1987, serving as an endocrinologist at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Over the years, he also held leadership roles as Chief of Staff and Department Head at the hospital. Most recently, he served as CEO of the Horizon Health Network.

In April 2024, Dr. Dornan announced his intention to seek the provincial Liberal nomination in the riding of Saint John Portland–Simonds, and he was elected in October 2024. The following month, he was appointed to the provincial cabinet as Minister of Health.

Dr. David Elias

Dr. David Elias is President & CEO of Canadian Health Solutions. He is certified in Emergency & Addiction Medicine by the College of Family Physicians of Canada. He is a fellow of the Canadian Board of Occupational Medicine and a Certified Independent Medical Examiner.

Dr. Elias is the President of the Canadian Board of Occupational Medicine. He lectures on the principles of occupational medicine and the development of health care management solutions as an Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University. He also developed and implemented a nationally recognized assessment and medical management programs and conducts research to extend and improve the capabilities, outcomes and professionalism of the practice of occupational medicine in Canada.
