Butterflies & the Departed

Butterflies have long been regarded as powerful symbols of transformation, beauty and transcendence. In various cultures and spiritual beliefs, these delicate creatures hold great significance when it comes to the departed souls of loved ones.

Many people believe that butterflies carry the souls of those who have passed away, symbolizing the soul’s journey from one realm to the other. Their metamorphosis from caterpillar to butterfly represents the transformative cycle of life, death and rebirth.

The presence of butterflies in moments of grief serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring bond between the living and the departed, bringing solace and hope in times of sorrow.

If you would like to buy one instead, Butterflies are $125 each and includes a $75 charitable tax receipt. You can choose from gold, silver, or bronze, with space for up to 50 characters to remember someone special.

Once ordered, your Butterfly will arrive at our Centre within 10 days. We’ll contact you to arrange a time for you to place it on our Memorial Wall—or, if you prefer, we’ll be honored to place it for you.

If you’d like, we can also mail a keepsake card to a family member or friend you are remembering. Simply provide their mailing address, and we’ll take care of the rest with care and compassion.

If you purchase a butterfly in honor of someone, simply provide us with the recipient’s family name and address. We will send them a personalized card on your behalf, informing them that a butterfly has been placed in memory of their loved one. This thoughtful gesture allows you to express your sympathy and support in a meaningful way, even from a distance.
