New Partnership with Catena Creates Greater Access to Mental Health Support.

At the Compassionate Grief Centre, we believe that everyone deserves access to compassionate mental health support. That is why we are excited to announce a new partnership with Catena, an organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities through meaningful employment opportunities, personal growth, and community inclusion.

Through this partnership, one of our counsellors will be visiting Catena once a month to provide mental health support directly within their environment. By bringing services to where people already feel comfortable and connected, we hope to remove barriers and make it easier for individuals to access the support they need.

People with intellectual disabilities are often overlooked when conversations about mental health take place. Yet they experience grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional struggles just like anyone else. In many cases, they may face additional barriers when trying to access traditional counselling services, leaving important mental health needs unmet.

This partnership recognizes an important truth: mental health support should be accessible, inclusive, and available to everyone. By working alongside Catena, we can help ensure that individuals have a safe space to express themselves, build coping skills, process difficult emotions, and strengthen their overall well-being.

We are grateful to Catena for their leadership and commitment to supporting the whole person. Together, we are creating opportunities for individuals to not only thrive in their work and daily lives but also feel seen, heard, and supported in their mental health journey.

Partnerships like this are a reflection of what can happen when organizations come together with a shared purpose. We look forward to the meaningful impact this collaboration will have and to continuing to build a community where everyone has access to the care and support they deserve.
